Our Mission

The VFW was established to assist veterans. Our mission is to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts and to serve our veterans, the military, and our communities, and advocate on behalf of all veterans. The purposes of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States are fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational; to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead, and to assist their surviving spouses and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America, and fidelity to its institutions of American freedom, and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies.

What We've Achieved

On the National level;

Among the VFW's most recent and important legislative victories was expanding college education benefits for military service members with the signing of the Forever GI Bill, and ensuring America's service members and veterans receive the care they deserve - whenever and wherever they need it - by passing the VA MISSION Act.

On the Local Level;

VFW Post 9274 is among the youngest of VFW Posts in regards to member demographics. Over 30% of our Members and Leadership Team have served in Iraq and Afghanistan or other recent engagements.

The Post regularly hosts fundraisers benefiting many charities including; TOPKATS Group, Inc (www.topkatsgroup.org) & PINUPS FOR PITBULLS (https://pinupsforpitbulls.org/). Additionally, the Post hosts numerous local events from business meetings, classes, church events to Quinceanera's, baby showers, and other social events in our banquet hall/venue which is available for public rental. VFW Post 9274 believes strongly in providing an active role in both our veteran and the local community.
